The US has liberated Tens of Millions of people by allowing them to immigrate to the United States. But according to Trump and MAGA somehow that’s not OK and they need to go back to their “shithole” countries.

Instead they would rather spend a billion dollars or so per day using precision munitions and highly sophisticated aircraft and giant naval fleets bombing the shit out said “shithole” country.

I guess it’s OK to liberate millions of people from tyranny as long as they stay out of our country.

You don’t “liberate” a place by absorbing its citizens. That’s ridiculous. You do what you can to depose their oppressors so they can change their own country for the better. Sometimes it works, sometimes they fuck it up again.

Immigration, legal and illegal, is driven by economics, not people fleeing theocracy or some other form of oppressive government. The difference today, unlike the influx of Europeans in the early 20th century, is that they’re showered with government services and not expected to succeed or fail based on their own merit. Nobody handed out food stamps, debit cards, housing and data plans to the millions of Irish, Italian, Poles and Slavs on Ellis Island. They brought something to the table or starved in the street, and they all knew it before stepping on the boat. A welfare state with open borders is doomed from the start, it’s just a matter of time.

Not quite as they're liberating themselves from US Dollars and getting into gold. It is noted that foreign Cental Banks now hold more gold on their balance sheets than US Treasuries/Bonds (US Debt). Gold can't be frozen on a circuit board if its sitting in their vaults.

When Biden began the Ukraine war in February 2022 and froze Russian assets the whole world took notice and they're acting upon it... meaning ditching the US Dollar, not good for the US in particular.

Paying more at the pump will cost more and you will be charged in more way than one. The Iran War has the potential to destroy the global and American economy.

Interesting reply given that your post and my reply were both referring to the current state of immigration in the US. Nice job nitpicking a single sentence that loses that context completely tho. If you think that the VAST majority of immigrants coming into the country, mostly South Americans, are doing so for anything other than economic reasons I don’t know what to tell you or how to cure your willful blindness.

Not only does this sap resources from the US, but it does the country of origin no good either. The people who are smart and resourceful enough to trek thousands of miles to get here, are the very people that could stay and actually improve their native land.

Oh, eventually those immigrants will go back to their original country when they realize they aren't getting much back from their investment.
