One of many similar stories across the U.S. as we see 20% or more drops in tourism and millions upon millions in lost revenue for local communities.

International travel to the U.S. keeps sliding. Visits fell for the 8th straight month.
Massive layoffs happening now in Las Vegas and other U.S. cities that depend on heavily on tourism.
Also: It doesn't appear the travel bug has gone anywhere — just that international tourists are avoiding the U.S.
Can anyone see a correlation?
I can. Hint: it rhymes with chump

I guess “No Taxes on Tips” doesn’t work very well when the people giving you your tips are no longer coming to your establishment.
Small business owners that depend on tourism can’t be happy about the way things are going. First tariffs take a bite out of the bottom line, especially if you have the type of business that sells tourism related products, but then the people who you depend on to buy the goods and services that you sell just aren’t interested in showing up anymore.
It’s enough to put many out of business and to let workers go.
I wonder what the Greenland brouhaha will do to European tourism in the spring and summer?

I just hope the majority of these people losing their asses in the tourism industry are people who voted for the chump. That would make it a tiny bit more palatable. Getting what they voted for, etc.
Unfortunately, the only way to deprogram a cult member is through suffering. Especially when it's self-inflicted.

That new social media policy may put an even bigger damper on tourism than the Trump admin already has.
Hope no one here counts on tourist revenue

I'm hoping for a World Cup boycott, like Germany is discussing. Then trump can take his little, made-up FIFA peace prize and shove it up his ass.
Why the hell would anyone from a foreign country want to come here, especially if they're not "from Norway" (wink-wink, nudge-nudge)?

Foreigners are NOT interested in coming here, especially with the way immigrants and foreigners are being treated here. They may have to show their phones and things like social media etc to ensure that are only positive on Trumpo vs having any ability of freedom of speech. We live in Authoritarian times. Special faceless cops, deportations to cities thousands of miles away or killing citizens is usually a great reason to not visit a country. I cannot expect any of them to want to see a football game here for ANY REASON, VS.going to another less dictator -like place.
America has fallen very far in the world's eyes and in many citizens.

Imagine being as thin-skinned as trump. Dude gets his widdle fee-fees hurt at the drop of a hat. He's more delicate than a fucking Fabergé egg. And his supporters say he's "tough" and we're the snowflakes.
trump wants to see the social media history of any tourist coming here from a foreign country to make sure they haven't ever talked shit on him. My god, he's such a whiny pussy. We've never had a president who's this much of a drama queen. Neither has any other country. No wonder tourism is down bigly.

Canadian visit to the U.S. have fallen for the 13th straight month. All one has to do is remember what happened 13 months ago to explain the drop.
Conservative estimates are calling it a $4.5 billion loss and counting, along with over 140,000 jobs going bye-bye.
Also....
Canadian visits to other international destinations were up 7.2% year over year—indicating Canadians are indeed traveling, but not to the U.S.
Thanks trump.
