Bob Mueller was clearly senile when he appeared before Congress in July 2019 to explain how he came up with bupkis after a 2-year investigation into alleged Russian collusion. It was apparent that other members of his Special Counsel staff were calling the shots and Mueller was their sock-puppet. I didn't dislike the guy, I just felt sorry for him. Had he been in full control of his faculties, my expectations would have been higher. I would have expected him to come clean and say - sorry, but there is no there, there.

That said, Trump is a major league jackass for saying I'm glad he's dead. Trump was also a jackass when he said the same thing about Rob Reiner. What useful purpose was served by those Truth Social posts, other than proving Trump is a major league jackass? There is a time to fight, fight, fight and a time to stfu and let the dead RIP.

I will admit that like all human beings those that identify as liberals can be as judgmental as anyone else. What happened to Al Franken is a case in point.

But Donald Trump and his Acolytes have taken things to the extreme in both tone and actions. The level of political violence escalated after the 2016 election cycle. That’s not a coincidence it’s a direct result of Donald Trump’s violent political rhetoric.

“Donald Trump has normalized political violence through his aggressive rhetoric, which often includes threats and dehumanizing language directed at opponents. This has contributed to a culture where violent actions are increasingly seen as acceptable responses to political grievances, reflecting a broader breakdown in democratic norms.”

Is Donald Trump normalizing political violence in America?

When Donald Trump suggested that General Mark Milley should be executed, it was the latest in a long line of violent rhetoric from the former President.

"When Mr. Trump says something through social media or at his rallies that deprecates another person names another person, those people then get threatened. They get threatened with violence," Mary McCord says.

"Their families get threatened for violence."

No way you, or whoever you copy/pasta’d those paragraphs from, wrote them with a straight face.

GTFOH TxDot. The left normalizes violence at this point and you have the judicial system largely in place to turn a blind eye to the criminals and blame the victims. Mueller and his fake Russian case on Trump didn’t help.

Since 2016, left-wing political violence and extremism in the US have increased measurably, especially in riots, property damage, and plots targeting symbols of authority or conservatives.Key data points:CSIS tracking shows left-wing attacks/plots rising from ~1.3 per year (2001–2015) to ~4 annually (2016–2024), with further upticks in 2025.

2020 George Floyd protests/riots caused $1–2 billion in insured damages, dozens of deaths linked, and sustained anarchist/Antifa actions (e.g., Portland).

Notable examples:Widespread 2020 riots with Antifa involvement and organized funding for activist networks.

Heightened anti-Trump rhetoric coinciding with two 2024 assassination attempts on Trump (perpetrators with mixed/anti-Trump signals).

Increased street-level clashes, campus disruptions, and anti-government extremism.

The common denominator between your argument and mine is the entry of Donald Trump into the political arena in 2016.

Is the liberal left really that violent or are they just reacting to the violent rhetoric bandied about by Trump and the right wing media sphere?

Conservatives need to take responsibility for their part in the rise of political violence not just blame the opposing party.

You think it's all just rhetoric on the right, and the violence is only coming from the left? WTF planet have you been living on for the past decade?

I’m saying violence begets violence. There has been plenty of violence to go around on both sides since 2016. It’s the lack of civility by our leaders both political and civilian that is pushing the violence. It’s up to the President to cool things down. Good luck getting Trump to do anything like that.

P.S. Your own language in this post is insulting and violent in its own right.

And I think your previous post proves my point. Stop the victimhood nonsense and take responsibility for your own language and actions. Because what you’ve written is the very example of the type of violent rhetoric we’re talking about.

I felt the same way about Charlie Kirk as I did Alex Pretti and Renee Good. Three people who I didn't know and never heard of, who were tragically murdered. What do they have to do with Trump's hateful statement?

Well this thread is about Mueller and So I don't see the connection regarding Chaz Kirk. (Plus I never said anything about him after he passed.) I think thou protest too much and are derailing the convo.
