Most Women are Crazy
And thats mostly Ok.-although exhausting for us to deal with. At least for us who identify as a male. (BTW my pronouns are he/him/hung). Most of us have/ had wives, girlfriends, daughters and sisters. So "crazy" is not a revelation.
With all the female man-haters out there---this is not a woman haters post- on the contrary. Due to hormones and physiology blah blah blah the ladies emotional whip saw can be shocking.
On the spectrum of female emotions-- for many --"Karen" is just the starting point and it only escalates from there.
Weird but true factoid:
Divorce rates : (easily sited)
Gay Men 28%
Heterosexual couples 50%
Lesbian couples 72%
Women in true distress are heartbreaking to watch unravel. Sense some of you have seen it. As men we often mask the problem with humor. (or hookers)
My (attempted) point:
If you are a man who walks on eggshells not to upset your SO or wife and she is in true mental distress: (Bipolar/manic/clinical depression) in most cases it is not your fault--so get by the guilt that you can't make her happy. You are not alone. Seek professional help.
Have that uncomfortable conversation about what she needs to do to get healthy. Even if the remedy is unorthodox. Even if she hates you for a while.
I am not a clinician but have been around this block. Never followed my own advice.
And 17 years, 6 months and 27 days later ---I live with regret.
