Please tell us the objective of this war/not war (as I hear it). Nobody involved with donny&co seem to have a clear, comprehensive plan to present about it.

Much to the contary, they seem to be extemely surprised of the results of their action: increasing prices, hostile reaction outside the theatre to American interest, results of Irans force multiplier weapons with the economy of cost, etc.

Wrong war for us.
Extremely good tactics.

Current war/not war: same former, different latter.

And we keep ignoring the end game which is always a fuck up. Except with the current one, we ain't at the end game and the backlash is already hitting us hard.

War? What an abused word. How many WARS have we fought in the last century? One? Only once did congress actually vote on a war declaration in 1941. Every other time was an understanding or a police action but we ended up calling them wars. Anyone who wants to belabor the use is a lawyer or a democrat.

As for the objective...that's been made pretty clear several times, no nukes for Islam terrorists, no threats to the United States, no supporting terrorism.

You forgot - no approval from Congress
no buyin from the American people
no complete release of the Epstein files

The biggest threat to the United States is the MAGA mob.

Maybe you forgot but probably you never knew, if congress actually votes for WAR then the president gets more powerful. They don't want that and a lot of them would not vote for WAR. However, if that war powers vote had gone the other way last week, the congress could have ordered that all the ships and planes disperse or return home. They wouldn't want that on their heads either.

History always repeats.
Look up the Barbary Pirate Wars
Even though the US was in on that, it was the French that finally settled it.

Troops on the ground?
Define invasion and incursion.
If a team of 12 is needed to land, rescue a crew or hostages, and then leave...is that an invasion or "boots on the ground"?
If a landing force of 200 is required to temporarily defend a hard point like Kharg Island. Is that " boots on the ground" if the intent is to be there only until hostilities cease. 200 is iffy, maybe 2,000 is safer.
So, is it the number, the intent, or the mission? That is the difference between invasion and incursion?

Ah. As someone said here, word games.

But *I* think that the American people are not for sending their sons and daughters off to die for this current shit show. I wonder what those dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of repub lawyers in Congress think about that.

The objective *you* have given has problems. Lest you forget that donny already bombed the beejeebers out of that program. Fearless Leader stated it was a "spectacular success." "Obliterated" was the description given as to the state of the nuclear program.

No nuclear program == No nukes.

And you currently see what is currently happening to USA interest as a result from the man-babys attack(s). Sure glad that stopped all terrorist attacks.

I lay $$$$$ that the deal donny tore up was cost effective and the long term objective was working. A key part of that objective was for the people of Iran to take the reins from the mullahs. They have shown that they are determined to do it.

But no. Could damage the fragile ego of the orange one and are currently *better off* with what is happening according to what donny says.

I say BS.

I keep hearing the same functional ignorance from the democrats. Do you know how many times the 8th Air Force obliterated German industry in a city? I guess you imagine the Germans moved on....they rebuilt. Same thing as the Iranians, they rebuilt. They're A long way from where they were (ten days?) but I'm sure that they dug out what they could. After all, the ultimate defense is to have a nuke.

I think that is your voice echoing off something that you are hearing.

And yes. I know what the 8AAF did in Germany.
And no. I don't guess. And I don't imagine.

What *YOU* don't know is at the height of strategic bombing in Germany, when the AAF dropped the most tonnage of bombs, Germany was at the height of its production.

Strategic bombing did not work in the aspect of ceasing production of war material.

Seeing that you are in the romper room, that will give you PLENTY of time to research my statement.

So, i'm walking backwards here watching you make that statement. But anyone can just tune in on the tellie and see that it's true.

There is a reason why the world developed precision tactical weapons.

#4 - Blatant insults or hostility toward another member will be met with staff intervention. This applies to using our coed forums for name calling, personal attacks, or vulgar slang terms to describe fellow members. If you have legitimate concerns about another member here, share them tactfully in the appropriate private forums or with staff.

Which have been used effectively in this conflict. The A10 is an up-close and personal craft, which has been in use for decades. One of it's unique features is that if you shoot it, it turns around and inflicts revenge pretty quickly. I understand it is expected to retire in a few years.

Oh! Don't forget about it's Big Daddy, the AC-135. It has cannons from 25mm (gatling gun) up to 104mm howitzer and flys a little higher up.

Regardless; the fact that the A10 is there means they are clearing out the enemy's ground personnel roaming about the land. I would expect to see Apache helos (kin folk to A10s ;-) pretty soon as well.
