Default After catching up on the Sandbox

I would like to remind, or in some cases, enlighten the posters
with two quotes by Mark Twain....

1)“It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”

2)“Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.”

So why are you ignoring Mark Twain's advice by starting this thread?

I heard some famous quotes too when it comes to posting. I don’t think it was Twain though.

3) “a parrot poster has no original thought and is unable to articulate and/or develop their own argument. They look for their North Star to post, jump on it or even quote it, to act like they had the same thought.”

4) “while personal insults are forbidden one strategy is to lump posters into buckets, similar to identify politics, and then insult the bucket.”

5) “when backed into a corner and not sure how to proceed to save face, throw out the “oh the irony” to try and deflect the argument.”

Another related Quote...“Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something.”

Your buddy, Mr. Copypasta, is guilty of #3 multiple times every single day.

Not sure who you are referring to, but GM is probably talking about outright plagiarism - i.e. taking credit for something quoted without proper attribution.

There is nothing wrong with pasting links to thoughtful and original columns, or quoting directly from those links while using quotemarks to delineate whose comment it is.

Question - how many times a day do you visit the DNC website to glean their/your latest talking points?

Zero. But thanks for asking.

By the way, Mr. Copypasta never uses quotes, and very rarely provides links. He certainly never posts anything from "thoughtful or original columns" either, so I'm not sure what you're referring to.
