Here's the data you wanted: CBP logged 2.9 million encounters in FY2024. That's not open borders. That's a swamped system still doing its job. Open borders would mean zero enforcement. There was enforcement—go check it yourself.

To sum it up: you did not mean what you said, "whoever" means whoever, and the real answer to "name a candidate who campaigned on open borders" seems to be "the guy who campaigned on closing them."

Just one guy’s story from one spot? Tell that to the 250K+ people that live in the Midland/Odessa area. Tell that to all the folks that live on the TX/Mexico border. Or all the folks that live on the New Mexico/Mexico border. Or all the folks that live on the Arizona/Mexico border. All of which had to deal with the Biden Admin’s open border bullshit. Don’t try and minimize this to just “one guy’s story”, cause millions of people were harmed by Biden’s open borders.
And let’s not forget how the rich Libs in Martha’s Vineyard dealt with only a cpl dozen illegals when they were sent there. They had them removed within hours. They wanted them gone…immediately. Millions near the border dealt with real immigration challenges, and Biden's policies genuinely weakened enforcement — ending Remain in Mexico, narrowing ICE priorities, halting wall construction. That is a legitimate criticism and worth owning. Encounters hit record highs. The system was overwhelmed. Those are facts.
But weakened enforcement is not the same as no enforcement. There was still a border. There were still agents. There were still deportations — more in some years than under Trump's first term. Open borders means no enforcement whatsoever. That did not happen. The difference between "badly managed" and "wide open" matters, regardless of how close you lived to it.
Martha's Vineyard? That is the tired old stunt where DeSantis flew 50 migrants there without warning, purely for politics. Locals stepped up immediately with housing, food, legal assistance and medical care. They were not booted out — they were helped and voluntarily moved to Cape Cod with legal support. What you are calling rejection was organized assistance. Check the record.
