Default Reflecting on a hobby life that has come and gone part 2: AMPing in the Dallas golden era

If you haven't read Part 1 where I discuss how I entered the hobby, you can read it here.

This post is about my hobbying experiences in Dallas AMPs during their golden era. It may win the award for the longest ECCIE post of all time. This will be a historical perspective for the newer guys so they can see how we got here and just how much things have deteriorated over the past few years. I guess its also part eulogy for the lucky few who were around 7 or 8 years ago.

I first visited Dallas in May of 2018 and moved there shortly afterwards. Unfortunately, I had to fly a little blind because ECCIE and most of the other review sites were down at the time. For you newer guys, this website and many other hobby websites went dark in April of 2018 and stayed dark for awhile. If any of you ever wondered why many hobby websites are hosted on foreign servers and have goofy extensions like .nl or .cn, or why the reviews on this website all start in June of 2018 despite membership dating back to March of 2009, the passage of FOSTA is why. On my first trip to the Mecca the only information source I had was OH2 (which didn't have a ton of information) and what I retained from memory as I was planning my trip before everything went dark.

Let me reminisce here for a minute about this era in Dallas. It's hard to believe now, but back then Dallas was one of the most prolific hobby cities in the country. Things were MUCH different to say the very least. In my opinion, late summer and fall of 2018 is the golden era for the AMPs in Dallas. Back then, many of the AMPs were 24-hour establishments and they all had table showers. Prices were consistent and predictable. EVERY place charged $140 for a half hour and $200 for an hour. The services you received was equally predictable. You could pull two random names out of a hat and both would likely provide a comparable experience for the same price. Quite a few places would even offer a lineup if you politely asked.

This was also an era where you could scratch virtually any itch. Literally, if you wanted it, there was a woman in AMPville who would provide it. BBFS was rampant (this was referred to as Catholic back in the day). I never personally partook in this, but I can remember many times having to put the brakes on women as they were just about to hop on it raw. It was almost like they just assumed you were there for that. There were also girls who did Greek and anything else you could imagine. For a massage parlor hobbyist, Dallas was like heaven. For better or for worse, the AMPs in Dallas were a party scene where risks and long-term consequences were ignored in the name of short-term gratification and pleasure.

Promoter handles were abundant. People had mixed opinions about the promoters but I found them to be somewhat useful and even entertaining. There was one promoter named BobbyMann (who I am pretty sure was just Chung) who would write these giant promos complete with real pictures of the women. Regardless of your personal opinions towards him, you do have to admire his "reviews" and at least smile at how things were back then. I can still remember the excitement of a new BobbyMann review with pics.

Anyway, my first AMP in Dallas was at a 24-hour AMP called Star Studio and I went at 5:00 am. Some of my decision to go this early was my curiosity about whether Dallas actually had 24-hour establishments, but also because I couldn't sleep in my hotel room that night. I hoping to see a woman name Nikki, though I doubted she would be available that early. I parked at the gas station/McDonald's next door, walked across a patch of grass, and made my way to the front door. When I got there I was met by a giant metal gate for a door. I had not seen anything like this at an AMP before. Didn't think it was a bad thing, just interesting.

For those who want some nostalgia, here is a link to some photos from inside of that studio and to woman I was hoping to see, both compliments of BobbyMann. I should note to the mods before I continue that I stumbled upon these links as I was digging through old reviews. I am not sure if these adhered to the new image standards or if they were simply missed as you guys were deleting links from Bobbymann's reviews. Feel free to delete whatever violates ECCIE policies. These places and women are long gone so I saw no harm in sharing them.

Back to the story. I rang the doorbell and after a few minutes the mamasan (Emo in Dallas speak) answered and let me in, confirming that there truly were 24-hour AMPs in Dallas. She led me down the hallway and into a room. I was really impressed by the place. It was much nicer and more elaborate than most of the AMPs I had visited.

I asked for Nikki but she was predictably not available. Emo said she would send me a good one and after a few minutes a young, very attractive, and obviously just woken up women came into the room. I felt a little bad about her being woken up for this. I wasn't expecting Nikki but I figured they at least had a third shift. I didn't ask her name, but she was very attractive.

I handed her the money and began undressing. She gave me a robe and we walked down the hallway to the shower room. That giant cotton robe was such a nice touch. This was my first table shower experience. Hard to believe, but I had not experienced one of these prior to coming to Dallas. They just weren't common where I came from. I laid facedown on the vinyl mat and she started running hot water over me and soaping me up. I still remember the Dove men's bar soap and the pump bottle of Dial men's body wash in the shower room. It seemed like a lot of the AMPs had these EXACT two items. If any of you want to relive some of your table shower experiences, purchase these two items and hit the nearest shower (links below).

Dove men's bar soap from the AMPs: Amazon Wal-Mart

Dial men's body wash from the AMPs: Amazon Wal-Mart

Once she had me soaped up she hopped on me and started sliding her naked body all over mine. I learned later that this was called nuru and it was quite enjoyable. You newer guys that never got to experience the AMP table showers have no idea what you missed. A nice hot table shower and nuru on a cold day was the greatest feeling ever. While in the table shower another first happened. While I was on my stomach she started spreading my butt cheeks. At first I thought nothing of it, but then her tongue started tickling by butthole. Definitely wasn't expecting this. That marked my first TUMA experience. Never knew that was even a service offered. However, it was in Dallas.

We then made our way back to our room and the festivities started. It sounded like she was offering me some Catholic services, though I couldn't tell because of the language barrier. This was yet another first. Based on what I had read before everything went dark, it appeared that bareback was offered in Dallas. It was still a bit shocking being offered this for the first time. I politely declined and partook in other, mildly safer, activities.

What a first experience. I was thinking that I might like this new place.

I moved to Dallas shorty after this and started touring AMPville's many attractions. I don't recall where I went next. Most of these details were forgotten over the years. However, as I went through old ECCIE reviews and reminisced on my hobby life, here are some of the names that made me smile.

Lisa from Pearls. Legend is a word commonly used to describe Lisa. By the time I arrived Lisa was transitioning to a manager role. I remember it being hard to get a session with her and she had a tendency to pawn me off to other women. However, she was well worth the effort the few times I was lucky enough to score a session with her. The Pearls VIP room with Lisa was a second to none experience. To this day I'm convinced that there isn't a bottom to her throat.

Emma from Pearls (and later other places). I first met Emma after Lisa pawned me off to her one time. If I am being honest, I didn't care for Emma at first. I didn't find her particularly attractive and physically she just wasn't my type. I have heard others describe her as tits on a stick. That describes her perfectly. She didn't have very good breasts either. They were too hard and way too big for her skinny frame. All this said, her attitude and service more than made up for these things and I ended up really liking her. I ended up seeing her numerous times at Pearls and twice at Luxury just before the lockdown. I was happy to see her resurface at some of the studios but my reservations over screening kept me from going to visit her. Emma showed me that first impressions aren't always accurate. She is a really special person and I wanted to make sure I mentioned her here.

Crazy Star at Pearls. I went Pearls one day hoping for Lisa but knowing I would likely end up with someone else and this time the someone else was Crazy Star. That haircut is unmistakable. No issues in the looks department but some reviews had mentioned her spontaneous mood swings and I elected to pass. Once she finally got the message that I wasn't interested in seeing her she got infuriated and cussed me out in Korean as she literally stomped out of the room. They call her crazy for a reason.

Shasha from Lucky Haven and later Luxury. Petite, attractive, and all about you having a good experience sums her up pretty well. She was one of my all-time favorites and I don't recall ever having a bad moment with her. Shasha was the undisputed table shower and rusty trombone queen of AMPville. No one did these two things better than Shasha. On a side note, Luxury became my favorite spot after it opened. I still remember those little tennis balls on the racks in the shower rooms to protect people from bumping their heads. Pretty thoughtful if you think about it. Here are some pictures of Luxury after it had opened for those of you who weren't fortunate enough to have ever visited.

Tiny from New York New York. I seen her at NYNY though I realize she was at other places. If you seen her, you know why I am listing her. The epitome of pocket-sized. A freakishly small, borderline midget with adorable little hands and boobs bigger than she was. I know there was some debate over whether they were real or fake. Either way, you have to agree that they looked HUGE on her tiny little frame. She was a total novelty and I understand why she was able to develop a small following.

Foxy and Vicky from Blue. Foxy is a bit controversial because her reviews are all over the place. No one disputes that she was hot as hell. Beyond that, opinions are mixed. She formed a reputation for sabotaging sessions if she didn't like a customer. I think she may have liked me a little so my sessions with her were pretty good. She landed at Blue about the same time Vicky did. Vicky wasn't a looker but quickly developed a reputation for being a total sex machine. I always found these two interesting because they came to Blue at about the same time and were polar opposites in the looks and services department. If only there was a way to inject Vicky's attitude into Foxy's body. Some of you who saw both of them, ask yourself how much of a legend Foxy would be right now if she serviced like Vicky did. How long would that line be for a trip to Greece with Foxy?

Cat from Nagoya (and later other places). Cat was one of the later additions to AMPville and quickly became one of my favorites. Very pretty and really cool. Very few women were more laid back than Cat. It seemed like her tongue was a bit coarser than most, which is probably how she got the name Cat. Fun Fact: She is is a very talented golfer. I enjoyed her a lot.

Lucky at Good Times. Its unfortunate that Lucky will never rise to the stardom of the other women on this list. She arrived mere weeks before the lockdowns and wasn't really given a chance to establish herself. I was never into bigger girls but she was so pretty that I made an exception. I saw her a couple of times right before the lockdowns. She is particularly memorable because she was my last AMP session before everything went bust. I think the entire Northwest Compound closed up a day or two after my last visit with her in early March.

We really need an AMP historian to document all that was lost. Almost every AMP had a hall of fame rosters of absolute legends. If this website ever creates a Dallas AMP hall of fame or an AMP Rushmore were to be built at the intersection of Harry Hines and Royal, I would fully expect most of the women from this era to appear. In the immortal words of Archie Bunker, those were the days.

Though it wasn't immediately apparent in March of 2020, Covid truly was the death knell for the Dallas AMPs. The pandemic did more to destroy the AMP scene in a few short months than the city of Dallas had done in decades. Things were never the same after the lockdowns with most AMPS never reopening after Covid shuttered them.

Looking back though, the signs of the end were there before the lockdowns. In February of 2019, the last few AMPS on Emerald street that no one talked about were shut down. Having the benefit of hindsight, this event may have been the first domino. A few months later in July, Green Spa on Shady Trail that no one talked about was raided. This was an appetizer for what was to come.

About a week or two later, Bali unexpectedly closed. Then, Lucky Haven and New York New York closed up. As if this wasn't enough, Number 1 and Jades were raided in October. These events all occurred in the year prior to Covid. I think the AMP scene was still good enough though that no one saw the writing on the wall that the end was near. If you think about it, Covid merely gave the City of Dallas the once in a generation opportunity to finish off what they had already started.

Here is a timeline of AMPville destruction that occurred in the immediate twelve months before Covid:

The raiding of the last AMPs on Emerald (February 2019)

Green Spa on Shady Trail raid (July 2019)

Bali closing (July of 2019)

Lucky Haven and New York New York closing (August 2019)

Number 1 raid (October 2019)

Jades raid (October 2019)

Nagoya and Blue raid (March 2020)

That last one technically happened immediately after the lockdowns had started and I think a lot of it may have been because they were operating when they were supposed to be closed. It fit with the overall theme so I added it.

It feels like this timeline is missing a few events. Maybe someone can add some more information in the comments to fill in some of the holes I unintentionally left. This list above does not include the closing of Star Studio, Oceanside, and Pink One in late 2018 or early 2019. If you include these, the dismantling of AMPville may have began during the later part of golden age.

Once the lockdowns eased up, Luxury and Sun emerged as the primary places being patronized. JuJu Bee opened back up over the summer but was raided pretty quickly. This is when the studios began emerging, but as far as AMPs were concerned, Luxury and Sun were it. Sun was interesting because it was always there but no one seemed to frequent it as far as I could tell. Pearls and Palace still existed, but the talent was reported to be very subpar at Pearls after Lisa left and Palace had a strict no reviews policy enforced by Big Jim (I hope you are doing well buddy) and there was no way to know how many people were actually going there. I can't speak much about Palace since I had never visited it myself. If I remember correctly, Luxury and Sun each made it about a year before closing. Here is a link to the last lineup post I could find for those of you who wonder what things were like on the eve of Covid. Contrast this with what you see today.

I will wrap this part up here. Before I exit, some important disclosures that might explain some omissions. First, Sun did reopen under another name (before it was shut back down again) and there were other places like Michiko that did spring up. I was largely done hobbying by that time and had no desire to visit them. I also never visited any of the studios, making it difficult for me to reflect on these. It could also be argued that the studios were very short-lived and don't share the same rich history that the AMPs enjoy, making a historical perspective on them somewhat mute. I also omitted SubAMPs simply because I did not frequent these all that often and I didn't want this to become even longer. Maybe someone else can tackle these things when they write their hobby history (I'm handing the baton to you).

In Part 3 I will discuss my final hobby years and eventual exit.

Great write up! I miss those days. Used to drive up from Houston to play. Started earlier back in the early 2010s at Cleo, Red Rose, Dupond. ATFs back then were Original Penny, Jay, and Vicky.

Palace closure was the final nail in the coffin for k amps in dallas

Girls that’ stood out for me was Filipina Cherry, Korean CherryDD, LuckyHavens Judy’ & Kiss

I started my AMP visits back in the 80's. There was the Tokyo on Market Center West of I-35 and a few on Irving Blvd. Then ventured to the ones on Harry Hines. Those were the good old days!

Original Penny must have a real gem. Her name still comes up from time to time after all these years. I think she went indy and came back to Dallas a few times. She was before my time and I never got to experience her.

I remember Kiss. One of the most attractive AMP women I ever laid eyes on. We really didn't mesh so I usually went with ShaSha. If my memory serves me her and ShaSha got into it shortly after Luxury opened. I think AsianP (who was vadc back then and jkk now) was born out of that dispute.

I think Cola was in the same stable as Lucky. She was on my list but I never made it to her. We had so many options back then. You couldn't see everyone even if you tried.

You OGs need to make a thread on how the AMPs got started.

She’s in Vegas now. Seen her popup occasionally as indy in DFW and one time at a studio in Houston. Thought about seeing her but she must be pushing well into her 50s by now, so I balked…

Of all the people on this website, YOU are the ones who needs to write up a hobby history. You seem to have a lot of knowledge and information most of us aren't privy to. Instead of raising hell and picking fights, give us something good to read.

EMBARK, start writing.

Most of these women are north of 40. The 22 year old AMP woman is mostly a fairy tale. You may have a 35 year old that looks 22, but thats as good as you will get.

At 50 she may be calling it quits soon. I have known several women outside their AMP lives and they all say they need to make as much money as they can while they are "young and beautiful". Their words, not mine.

Thanks for this read. I genuinely am into historical information, so this stuff is interesting to me. BiBi was also, I believe, a legend at Sun, then she went to Luxury and Michiko, if I am not mistaken. Her big tatas were awesome, and she was a good time.

This may be before your time, but she used to be known as Honey at Pearls. If I remember correctly, Pearls was where she really established herself. I saw her while she was there. She was a good time for sure.

I know Kiss and I know ShaSha. I was around before them and I am not on anyside but my own. I just hit promoting boys because they hit me first then I hit them harder.
Plus I liked ShaSha (owner of Luxury) more than kiss and dated her many times at my home but never with kiss.
