https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2026/...kip-gdc-in-us/

International game developers skip the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco because it doesn’t feel safe.

How many other international professionals are choosing to skip travel to the US for professional development and other events?

That’s not just a blow for tourism but a blow to US competitiveness in various business and technology sectors.

Why is global travel booming but U.S. travel is in decline?

A quick look at who's in the WH says what needs said

Can't blame foreigners for wanting nothing to do with us. What's in it for them?

Why would anyone bother visiting this shithole? Especially if they're not "Norwegian" <wink wink, nudge nudge>?

Canadians are packing their bags for destinations other than the U.S., with Buenos Aires, Osaka, Japan, and Copenhagen all seeing 100 per cent increase in spending by Canadian visitors.Aug 10, 2025

Canadian travel to the US to continue to cool due to the "Buy Canadian" movement, political instability, the trade war, and recent violence in the US.

Canadians are significantly reducing travel to the U.S. during the Trump administration, leading to a 22% drop in 2025 visits, costing the U.S. economy $4.5 billion. Instead, they are prioritizing domestic travel within Canada (up 6% in summer 2025), alongside increased visits to Mexico, Europe, Japan, and Thailand.

They are doing a lot of staycations within the country also.

All from the www.bbc.com

Do they all have TdS or is it the Redhats who have a version called Trump Denial/deflection Syndrome?

Canadian visits to the U.S. down 35% from 14 months ago - when the racist reality TV clown came back into office. At least $4.5 billion in lost revenue and over 140,000 jobs lost.

“In my 37 years in the travel industry, I have never seen anything like what the Canadians have pulled off,” Amir Eylon, President and CEO of Longwoods International, told Forbes.

And travel elsewhere, Salty. Spending plenty of money that isn't helping Americans thanks to Trump.

I’m curious if this trend will continue if the airline industry is forced to raise prices due to the instability in the world oil markets. Will Canadians simply stay home instead of going overseas or will automobile trips resume to the US because costs will be lower?

The latest is that if the straight of Hormuz is still closed for another few months will have a solid impact on airfares. Normally, best flight rates are in springtime but Im betting gas price increases will have a much larger impact on visitors who typically drive here vs fly here. ie: CANADIANs

Why would ANYONE drive to our invasive government who want to see your social media posts before allowing you in to spend money or visit. It's a police state in authority-town.

Canada doesn't give 2 fucks about coming here to visit. They know the doors of business are all over the place thanks to Trump, so why add more just to visit the lower 48.

They probably look at us the way most people look at the poor uneducated Appalachian folks....queue the banjo's.

Global tourism is at an all-time high. But the U.S. isn't sharing in the increased revenue. We all know why.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/trave...l/89644570007/

Despite record global travel growth, the United States is losing market share as fewer international visitors choose to visit.
