... Hmmmm... Not sure WHY yer onto just Jeter there, mate.

You mention all the great players that the Yankees could add to
their side for A LOT of Winning season-meets. ... The whole time
Jeter was playing.

... But weren't the Yankees always that-way... The TOP team thru
the 1940s all the way to the 1960s?? ... Surely gotta wonder
just how many of THOSE players are in the Hall of Fame who
benefitted in the same manner that Jeter did? ... ... Just sayin'

A rising tide raises all ships!
The quintessential example of what I'm talking about is: Scott Brosious!
A .257 journeyman ... wallowing away in anonymity for the Oakland A's ... ready to be DFA'd!
He's traded to the Yankees ... he becomes a .300 hitter ... and becomes World Series MVP!
Go figure!

... Too right! ... They can't pitch-around ALL the Yankee's talent.
So, the lesser lads start seeing the fast balls over the plate!
And become BETTER hitters! ...

But, one more point about Jeter - I think he won at least one
"World Series Final - Most Valued Player" Award... So, at least
he could play well with the game on the line...

I have no problems with Jeter being elected to the Hall of Fame on the first ballad. How many short stops have 3,465 hits with a life time batting average of 310? If Jeter hit 300 home runs instead of 260 the voting would have been unanimous on the first ballad.
