from Al Jazeera:
"The Iranians insist the sticking point here remains that they want the complete opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the US blockade to end, but so far, there’s been no indication from the United States that it wants to end that blockade."
if Trump passes up this Iranian offer, he's a damn fool. the blockade is nothing more than motivation for Iran to open the Strait without any conditions or tolls. let's do that first, and then negotiate all the other less important stuff. we can always reestablish the blockade if necessary.
and Trump needs to stfu. his truth social posts alone could scuttle an end to this awful war of choice..
and why is Netanyahu still dropping bombs on Lebanon during a 3 week ceasefire. some ceasefire..
@1blackman: nope. Americans will die and more Americans will suffer serious injuries. this is why war is-or at least should be-a last resort.
taking the Strait will be a herculean task. the long and the short of it is that ships which transit the Strait are sitting ducks. 2 or more destroyers in formation should be able to handle anything Iran throws at them, but even then it's still dangerous.
if Trump had war-gamed this out, taking the Strait would have been the first order of business. but Trump doesn't have a long enough of an attention span to even do the most minimal preparation. i'd bet my house this war was never gamed out or run through an AI model. hell i could do this shit using only my smart phone.
i don't blame the generals; this one is totally on Trump alone.
breaking news: Trump cancels Witcoff and Kushner trip to Pakistan. they should have gone and engaged in mutual masturbation..
basically Iran is saying , "Hey Trump, why don't you go fuck yourself?" effing hilarious. but but but...i thought Iran agreed to everything! isn't that what you posted on Lies Social?..
Iran is in the driver's seat. they know it. and they want to make sure Trump knows it too..

it's interesting-the Iranian foreign minister was in Iran before the American team was supposed to arrive. then, he left before Kushner and Witcoff arrived. and now that Trump has grounded the negotiators, the Iranian foreign minister is back in Pakistan.
"We're too busy to meet with the Americans, but have plenty of time for random trips to Pakistan."
seems like the Iranians don't actually want to negotiate. Trump's more desperate to end the war than Iran's leaders are. it's kinda funny when you consider that almost all of Trump's issues with Iran--the Strait and nukes-were caused by him.
Iran has taken an American hostage. his name is Donald J. Trump..

it's official. Iran will open the Strait in exchange for the U.S. wrapping up the blockade and ending the war.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/...070942841.html
will Trump take it? prolly no. should he? fuck ya. with the funds spent on this war, he could have even extended the Obamacare subsidies. oops i meant the Trumpcare subsidies. Obama okayed the name update, btw..
also, the JCPOA is now the Trump JCPOA!!!!! (Obama said, "I approve this message"..) well Done with your Epic negotiations!!!!!
i suddenly realized that Trump is a secret environmentalist. he knew that if he attacked Iran, The Strait would Get shut down, Oil prices would go way Up, oil tankers would Sit idle for Months, oil would be Left in the Ground, people would switch to Renewables, people would Drive less, and the Planet would get a Whole lot Happier and Healthier..
i call that at least 4-D chess, not checkers like most people think is his highest level game. or is it tic tac toe? checkers can get pretty complicated. (my strategy is to occupy the lateral positions so you can't get jumped.)..
for all of that, Trump, i must say, "i Salute you sir! well Played, very well played. the Sierra Club Offers their Sincere gratitude.."
Thank You for Your Attention to this Matter!!!!

^^he can still do sanctions after the war about nukes. the Strait needs to be opened, and stay open, as priority 1. unless he just wants to concede the Senate. i'm cool with that too..

These seem to be the 2 choices. However at the start of this, Trump said it would last 4 to 6 weeks. It has already been 2 months, with no end in sight. Several countries will soon be running through their oil reserves. Oil is at $ 96 dollar levels. It is unsustainable for this to continue as is.
Also Iran has mentioned they will start blowing up Middle East oil facilities if this continues. They have learned to threaten, a page from the Trump playbook.
Trump also has said "they agreed to everything", and many other false statements.

Even Germany realizes Trump has been outmatched by the Iranians
Germany's Merz says Iran is humiliating US as talks stall | Reuters
Quote:
BERLIN, April 27 (Reuters) - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday Iran's leadership was humiliating the United States and getting U.S. officials to travel to Pakistan and then leave without results, in an unusually abrupt rebuke over the conflict.
Merz also said he not see what exit strategy the U.S. was pursuing in the Iran war- comments that underlined deep divisions between Washington and its European NATO allies, which had already been festering over Ukraine and other issues.
"The Iranians are obviously very skilled at negotiating, or rather, very skilful at not negotiating, letting the Americans travel to Islamabad and then leave again without any result," he said during a talk to students in the town of Marsberg.
"An entire nation is being humiliated by the Iranian leadership, especially by these so-called Revolutionary Guards. And so I hope that this ends as quickly as possible," he added at the venue in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
U.S. President Donald Trump has harshly criticized NATO allies for not sending their navies to help open the Strait of Hormuz during the conflict. The waterway has remained virtually shut, causing market turmoil and unprecedented disruption in energy supplies.
Merz reiterated that Germans and Europeans were not consulted before the U.S. and Israel started attacking Iran on February 28, and that he had conveyed his scepticism directly to Trump afterwards.
"If I had known that it would continue like this for five or six weeks and get progressively worse, I would have told him even more emphatically," Merz said, comparing it to previous U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Hopes of reviving peace efforts have receded since Trump scrapped a visit on Saturday by his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Islamabad, the Pakistani capital.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi travelled to Russia on Monday after failed talks in Pakistan and Oman.
Merz said it was evident the Strait of Hormuz had been at least partially mined. "We have offered, also as Europeans, to send German minesweepers to clear the strait, which has obviously been mined in part," he said.
He said the conflict was costing Germany "a lot of money, a lot of taxpayers' money and a lot of economic strength."

I predicted weeks ago this was over and that we were negotiating our surrender. It’s unfolding before our eyes. We are begging Iran to allow us to claim a victory. They are laughing.
Trump has resorted to another “assissination” attempt to try to divert our eyes from the war and Epstein. At least this time they didn’t accident kill a person in the stands like
In Butler.
What will be the next distraction?

You are out of your mind calling these "fake" assassination attempt.
Regarding Iran peace talks, why should Iran agree to peace talks when they are being blockaded ? And Trump may just let the conflict continue, causing massive economic suffering.
He said it would be over in 4 to 6 weeks.

well looks like Trump, instead of declaring victory and wrapping up this silly war, has decided to hand the Dems the Senate in the midterms. thank you kindly, Mr. President..
