so Trump failed to consult allies in the Persian Gulf before announcing Project Freedom-more new policy first introduced on Lies Social-which is part of the reason that Saudia Arabia was miffed.
now, after consulting with U.S. officials, both Saudia Arabia and Kuwait have dropped their objections.
https://nypost.com/2026/05/07/us-new...-to-us-report/
Iran is shooting (without hitting) at U.S. destroyers-3 to be exact-transiting the Strait, so no question they will shoot at civilian vessels too that try to run the gantlet.
moving civilian ships through the Strait is obviously going to be dicey, so they will need the presence of heavily-armed "guards", like destroyers, A-10s, and F-16s providing defensive cover fire for the transit.
meanwhile, Iran has created an entire government agency to "manage" the Strait, including deciding on who may pass and toll collection.
basically, this is a clusterfuck that the Orange Clown has created for himself, but make no mistake, securing the Strait is by far the only objective now that matters to U.S. national security from this war. all of the other goals only matter to Israel, including nukes, long range ballistic missiles, funding of proxies, etc. etc.
so let's see what Trump decides to do. maybe we'll learn in an all-caps message on Lies Social around 3am..

The funny part is that we'll have to spend billions to defend millions. Last I checked, that’s a shitty result.

Iran Is Driving a Hard Bargain..
from Al Jezeera:
"What are the sticking points in Iran-US talks?
As Washington awaits Tehran’s reply to its peace proposal, let’s take a look at the main points of contention:
Iran’s nuclear programme: The US wants Iran to halt the programme altogether, but Tehran says any such restrictions must be for a limited number of years.
Iran’s uranium stockpile: Trump says the US wants to take custody of Iran’s stockpile of 400kg (880lbs) of highly-enriched uranium. Tehran has rejected the demand.
Strait of Hormuz: Iran insists it will maintain restrictions on shipping in the waterway until the US lifts its blockade on Iranian ports. Trump says the blockade will remain in place until a deal is reached.
Frozen assets: Iranian officials are demanding sanctions relief and the unfreezing of $20bn in assets as part of any lasting agreement.
War reparations: Iran is demanding compensation for damage caused by US and Israeli attacks, amounting to about $270bn.
Iran’s regional influence: The US wants to limit Tehran’s support for its regional allies, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, and curb its ballistic missile programme."
doesn't sound to me like Iran is desperate for a deal, as Trump frequently claims. Iran appears to be in no great hurry..
concerning the Strait, Trump will need to get a detailed agreement that basically puts us back where we were before the war. anything less is totally unacceptable. and it can't be a scenario in which Iran complies until U.S. warships leave the area. we're not traffic cops for the Middle East. we need a provision in any deal that says bombs will immediately drop on Tehran if free passage in the Strait gets hampered at any time going forward.
war reparations are a non-starter as well. as far as i'm concerned, everything else should be negotiable just to get to the Strait being returned to its former open waterway status. so far nothing significant has been achieved except a pricey ammo dump, endangering Taiwan and Ukraine, while Trump has managed, in true Trump form, to piss off all of our NATO allies..

You forgot the absolute fucking chaos being wreaked upon the economies in Southeast Asia and East Asia.
We are making friends all over!
Before this war, probably only half the world hated us. We gotta be up to two-thirds by now....

^^good point!
and the latest from Al Jezeera:
"US President Donald Trump slams Iran’s response to Washington’s peace proposal as 'totally unacceptable.."
Trump:"Here's my 14 point proposal to end the war."
Iran: "Umm, lemme see. A simple no won't do. How bout 'hell fucking naw'?.."
eventually, Trump will figure out that it's Iran that has all the cards, unfortunately..

Bengy N. was on 60 Minutes yesterday. According to Bengy the Iran war is not over until the highly enriched uranium is removed from Iran or given up by Iran. The JCPOA was in the best interest of the Israelis, Iran could only enriched to 3.67% U-235, according to the IAEA Iran complied. If Trump had not taken the USA out of the JCPOA in 2018, we would not be in the situation we are in NOW.

2 1/2 months with high gas prices, and this is going nowhere.
Trump says no to peace deal and continues blockade
Iran says no discussion unless blockade is lifted
Trump says he will start bombing if Iran doesn't knuckle under
Iran says they will blow up Middle East region oil facilities if Trump doesn't retreat
Note USA sells UAE trillions of dollars of military equipment. Why doesn't UAE join the conflict ?

^^b/c they can't be seen as fighting alongside Bibi. he's perceived as extremely toxic and a war criminal in the Arab world. they're right in that he is a war criminal; he's committed genocide in Gaza and probably the West Bank too.

so i'm pretty sure we're going back to war, but Trump should make one offer first, which he's too dumb to realize is the best move: give Iran everything they want except for war reparations and a permanently opened Strait, same status as before this idiotic war. let Israel deal with Iran's other dilemmas, like nukes etc. those are "not our effing problem" style issues..
but he won't do that because he's too stupid to know how fucked we are. so back to war. what's the next military strategy/objective? i say screw everything except capturing and occupying the Strait. if we put the full might of the U.S. military on that single objective, i think it's doable. we have the Boxer's amphibious ready group, the Tripoli amphibious assault ship, 2 carrier strike groups, multiple airfields in our Persian Gulf allies, and probably some subs too. that's enough firepower to give China pause, never mind Iran. we need to use our hardware and personnel-some of whom will sacrifice their lives for our country, something Trump would never do-to literally own the Strait.
i don't see Iran folding just from the blockade, but hopefully i'm wrong. a trade of ending the blockade in exchange for a fully opened Strait would be a great way to wrap up this clusterfuck war of Trump's doing. will it happen? i doubt it. Iran is too dug in. they took our best punch and yet they're still standing. what's a few more months of a non-lethal bockade..

The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that the United Arab Emirates “has carried out military strikes on Iran,” citing “people familiar with the matter.”
The explosive report is the first time since the war began that the UAE has been implicated as an active combatant in the war, joining the U.S., Iran, and Israel as a primary actor.

awesome! now how bout the rest of the Persian Gulf? it's their oil that's stuck outside the Strait, not our's. even though Trump's foolishness got us here, now it's everyone's problem. practically the whole world has an incentive to remove Iran's takeover of the Strait. we should be seeing more carrier strike groups and de-mining ships from all over the world, including the Persian Gulf, Europe, Asia, and both of the Americas.
i get the whole Spanish take, "This isn't our war." Correction: this wasn't your war; now it is your war too, whether you like it or not..
send Trump your thank you note, along with your best destroyers and minesweepers, please..

Iran's "New Conditions" seem to be the status quo prior to the initial bombing. . . .and they own the Straights of Hormuse.
Our "New Conditions". seem to be the same: Iran surrenders all enriched Uranium and never gets an atom bomb.

It's okay with Trump & Bengy if Iran enriches the Uranium to 3.67% U-235. That is sufficient to heat homes and office buildings. They certainly can't go higher than that. The 3.67% limit was the limit in the JCPOA. In 2018, according to the IAEA , Iran was in compliance. This was before Trump took the USA out of the JCPOA in May 2018.

So we're no better off than we were at the beginning of the Trump-Epstein War?
