The police can ask an individual or business to do pretty much anything. As long as it's a request, it's up to the person or business to decide whether or not to comply. Obviously this notel thinks it's smart to do so.
Perhaps we need an "avoid" list for notels that are hostile to repeat business, or should otherwise be avoided?

				 Well

When you see on the 6 oclock news that the entire LE assets of the metro area were out rounding up every man and woman who rented a hotel for less than a 12 hour period, I guess we will all be safe.

If you want the notel that practices this policy and wish to avoid it PM me and I'll be happy to provide it.

This Patel dude needs to get off his high horse. He's running a notel with a cheap hourly rate and now he wants to crack down on prostitution?? If I was the lady, I would not have given the I.D.

You can buy a fake ID that looks pretty good at first glance, but I'll bet it won't have the electronic strip on the back. When they scan the ID, the strip won't be read by the scanner, and they will probably ask for your real one.Or is there a way to get a fake ID with a good strip on the back that I don't know about?

This thread is a tad on the funny side to me. Not to offend anyone, but most hotels/notels require ID at check in. Even your nicer upscale places. These 2 / 4 hour notels are required to get ID from you and have you sign a small form as well upon check in.
 Why does this surprise anyone?

I think what's suprising is they asked for both the op's i.d. AND the provider's i.d. Usually they just ask for an i.d. from whoever initially checks out the room.

			Out_of_bounds
.......maybe it was a high-volume (high-traffic) joint, and you didn't know about it? I would suggest avoiding the ones located on known major streets, and/or the ones which look like are frequented by the street walkers.

 As far as IDs go....

....In this day and age, I think it's very foolish (and borderline dangerous) to be posting anything online about forging legal documents. It's shady activity, and there has to be some forum guideline that prohibits things like that. The mods should not condone it by letting it get out of hand.

 My two cents.

That's the point of the thread GP. They asked for both mine and my dates. Funny thing is I went back a week later and they only asked for mine. Guess she was in the clear.
