L4L, with you on O'Reilly, one of the few I can tolerate. Can't really watch any of the others on either side, even Bill Maher whose comedy I used to enjoy. I do enjoy Colbert because his satire is greatness.

yeah, Beck renders a fucking OPINION about Woodrow Wilson which if you have bothered to watch his show, not one thing he has talked about with Wilson's policy decisions or actions, have proven to be wrong.

So, did Beck offer a fact here or an opinion? I'll look at your other link once the sedative wears off and I am not so shocked.

If you google 'Glenn Beck Lies', you'll find what you're looking for. There is a lot of bullshit from Beck haters but the nonsense from Beck is there too. Some of it is lies but more of it is conspiracy nonsense. The power of the Internet is that you can parse data from multiple sources and form your own opinion. In Beck's case, it's pretty easy to spot the common threads, and they are nonsense. The guy is an idiot who is exploiting the ill-informed for personal gain.

I suspect the reluctance of people here to make the effort to compile lists of examples is that it won't matter. The fundamentalists and ill-informed that Beck preys on aren't swayed by logic, common sense, or evidence. They're no different from Jim Jones followers.

BigTex has it spot-on right: Beck is just a part of the billion dollar conservative entertainment industry. Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, etc etc etc. It's about bucks, nothing else. I sometimes question whether Limbaugh and Coulter actually believe the crap they spew. I bet they laugh all the way to the bank.

The shame of it is that what makes these clowns money doesn't result in anything good for the country. The demonization of fellow Americans by both left and right is what has led us to where we are right now: grid-locked with the crazies from both ends of the spectrum controlling the debate. Look at the Republican presidential freak show. Michelle Bachmann? Sarah Palin? Rick Perry? These maroons are actually being discussed as serious candidates to be the most powerful human being walking the face of our planet? Scary.

OK I did the glenn lies search. I went to three independent sites that are stock full of venum and couldn't find one single listing that quoted the actual "lie" with a reference to something in history that would prove it false. Not one. Not even the one about presidents using the bible, that I know for a fact he said and is not actually true. I mean come on guys... If a fan can see that and look up the necessary history to prove it, why is it so hard for yall?

What struck me as pretty funny about that was, (and I'm sure I wasn't the only viewer that wrote him and told him about that bible thing) about a week after I sent an email to his staff alerting them to that little tid bit, he said something about it on air. He's come back every single time there was a mistake made (and people are going to make mistakes) and said what it was and what the truth was. Maybe 10 or 15 times tops and that's TOPS.

You guys that have so much hate in your hearts with no actual proof. You are literally guilty of the very thing you hate him for. Do you have any idea how much energy you spend hating someone? I can tell you, it's a fuck ton. Wayyyy more than you probably want to spend on ANYTHING, much less hate.

With all that energy, and the desire to show us the error of our ways (you do desire that right? or do you just enjoy hating and spilling venum? Makeum wittle man feel better?) Why don't you start a site that takes his quotes and find the actual real proof that it's incorrect. I'm very open to hearing the truth no matter what side it's from. But give me facts, not hate.

I've watched the show may two or three times, but have followed indirectly via various political blogs. As far as I've been able to determine, his citations of history are far more accurate than most, including that guy in DC who's uncle liberated a concentration camp (that was liberated by the Red Army).

BUT, Beck's pre-occupation with religion prevented me from taking him too seriously. No offense to those who are into it, but the only place the Constitution makes a religious reference is in the not establishment clause and the date (year of our Lord). Religion is fine for the religious, just keep it (and I include atheism and global warming in my definition of religion) out of government.

I am so damn tired of reading citations to the "facts" when it is just a citation to someone's opinion of why they are right and he is wrong. They use no facts, just similar conjecture as did the gentleman in JpDM's citation. And that goes for anyone. AMEN! If you want to criticize someone, please give me FACTS. If you want to discuss your opinion and can give a reasoned argument why you hold that opinion, I'm happy to have a conversation. I can respect and be friends with someone with whom I disagree if we can have a civil conversation, separate facts from opinion, and discuss in a reasoned way the arguments which back up our different opinions. But, name calling, hate spewing (on either side), and blind adherence to an ideology (mine or anyone else's) with no idea why someone holds that belief, I just cannot respect.

I would like to point out one little thing I've noticed blaring in this thread. If you go back and read each post you will see a vast difference in how each side approaches this.*

One side (for or neutral to beck) has been very level headed and sought discussion and peace, presenting views and opinions void of hate or one sidedness. The other is pure unadulterated hate and spite for the man alone NOT his views. You guys haven't presented even one valid argument why he is so evil. It very much reminds me of a philosophical debate I had with a dear friend on the belief of God( except I like my friend and we had a marvelous 5 hour discussion on the topic.) We didn't try to sway the others opinion on God (geez iPhone doesn't even capitize God) but every thing he said not only didn't disprove God, it solidified my faith. The similarity lays in the third party read. If reason and debate is a driving factor in why you study something, you would be more interested in chasing the knowledge of the core topic vs. the anger. Sorta like how I first found him. People talkimg just like you guys. I HAD to know who would motivate such emotion.*
