Wheres a good place around SA for a good steak that isnt gonna break the bank?


I dont mind paying for a good meal but not to much lol --- Im not interested in Ruth Chris or the chains -- I mean a good local place

I always liked The Little Red Barn, but I haven't been there in ages so it may have changed. But my vote for the best steak for the price is Texas Roadhouse. And those rolls with the cinnamon/sugar butter, damn! I could eat just that and be happy! Roadhouse isn't formal by any means, and gets loud, so if you're looking for a steakhouse experience (quiet rooms, candle-lit ambiance, etc.) look elsewhere.

I can eat Texas Roadhouse when Im home -- Im looking for something that I cant get at home --- Im gonna look into the Little Red Barn

I'd stay clear of the little red barn. The food isn't good and the owner is a cheapskate - you will get nickel and dime'd to death.

Ahhh that makes me sad to hear BigBudha. It used to be really good years ago, (I have fond memories from when I was a young kid in San Antonio) but things change I suppose.

Barn Door.......its on North New Braunfels just south of loop 410. Or how about the Hungry Farmer on the south side at 35 and Military.

If you're in the mood for grilling (or smoking) your own steak, buy the select filet's from Granzin's meat market in New Braunfels. You won't find a more tender steak anywhere. The $/pound is pretty high but still cheaper than what you'd pay in a restaurant.

I very rarely go out for steaks so can't help you out much there.

Little Red Barn sucks don't waste your time there . The Barn Door is by far the best steakhouse i have bin to !

I know its a chain, but the the S.O and I love the Saltgrass Steakhouse.
