I can't believe you guys are posting on a fucking hooktard board, and saying that soldiers are not and should not be called heroes because of fucking blah, blah, blah, blah. Fucking pathetic.

Open a dictionary and do your best not to be so sensitive about things.

I have no idea why anyone takes the mainstream media seriously.

WE have only tried to establish what is in fact heroic. If your standard is, that joining the military is in fact heroic. Fine, but other may have different standards. They may want you to do something that seperates you from just joining.
Have you watched the Pat Tillman Story?

Not all heroes are found in one place. I'm a Viet Nam era draft era guy and I know some heroes on that side too. "Hero" is somewhat ill defined, but I found the reporter's comment that could not separate the war from the individuals' actions to be troubling.
Stand in others shoes before being so harsh. The reporter that COG is ragging on is top notch. It is a difficult discussion. To some it would not matter how he worded it.
Agree.
I pray all our troops make it home safely. No matter what side of the asile we sit, nobody would disagree with that.
Agree there too.

The fact that any American on Memorial Day would be trying to determine which of our soldiers, either past, current, fallen or alive, is or was a hero is simply disturbing to me. Do as you wish though, still a free country.

When is a good time?
Have you seen the Pat Tillman Story?
You know the guy who was actually making a shit pile of money and then joined the military, was killed by friendly fire and the Brass tried to cover up? Is everybody that joined the military a hero or just those that died. Does the other side then have hero's too?

What's your point, WTF? Pat Tillman is a tragic story, and the brass involved in the coverup should be handed their balls in metal containers. Tillman is no less a hero to me.

Old-T you are like me as much as you hate to admit it. You are tight with a buck but you want the government out of our personal affairs.

Have you seen the movie?
Put yourself in others shoes and be less judgemental COG.
The reporters point was, Is everybody a hero? Is every death heroic or are some tragic?
It is a ligit point. IMHO

No. I haven't seen the movie. Would that make me an expert like it has you?
But it is funny that you would lecture me on being too judgmental. At least that gave me a laugh.

I did not lecture you. But it is a great movie on the very subject. Just WTF is a hero? Maybe had you taken the time to see it, you would know WTF I am talking about. That is all. No lecture.
But you have missed the point the reporter was trying to make.

I don't think I missed his point. I addressed it earlier, had you taken time to read.
