Asking the girls here. Apparently in New York, it is legal for a girl to go topless. And one young woman decided to do just that.

I have heard (but never confirmed) that it is legal to go topless in Austin. I have seen topless girls at Barton Springs, but never in downtown Austin. That would be something.

As long as it's more than four shots down and everyone else is...Hellya! I've streaked on the bay at Seal Beach...but, that was many moons (pun intended) ago!

There are a few places in Austin that's legal, but not in downtown...Austin is becoming more and more STIFF. I've been to both Barton Springs and Hippee Hollow.

Texas has no prohibition against female toplessness, and leaves that to municipalities. Austin has no ordinance against female toplessness. Other cities may have them, but I do not know which.


Even in Austin, as a practical matter, female toplessness may result in a complaint, and then LE may ask covering up the ofending boobs, on the grounds that they create a disturbance. Any complaint in Hippie Hollow will be ignored because it is a recognized clothing optional site. It will probably be ignored in Barton Spring, Eeyore's Birthday Party, Keep Austin Weird events, and World Naked Bike Ride, too, because of traditional toplessness in those. Elsewhere, it will be case by case.

Makes sense now! I remember seeing a girl on 6th st walking around topless, and thinking, "wtf," nobody seemed to care, including LE.
