This is just one of those questions that pops into my head after reading some ads and posts.

Many girls here say they are porn stars in their advertisements, but I haven't seen or heard of them before. I admit I am not a porn aficiondado, but I have heard of the big stars. Wouldn't these ladies be called porn actresses?

On the main stream side of movies, you have Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz and others who can be considered movie stars. If I have a role in a movie, does that make me a movie star or just a film actor.

Not trying to be mean, I'm just curious if I am off base in my reasoning. So what is a Porn Star?

I have made my own movies, but I am certainly not a Star. Well, I guess I am "starring" in my own movie, so technically that makes me the Star....hell, I don't know. Now I am confused.

Well, porn star is a term applied to any female who performs on film professionally. I don't think popularity enters into the discussion like it would in mainstream Hollywood.

And Reese, porn "star" or not, you fuck better than most of the chicks I watch on my computer! :-)

I think you know you're getting older when you watch the porn of the day and it actually has the reverse effect on you. I think porn star used to mean contract girls whose names were well known and even known outside of the porn world, Ginger Lynn and Jenna Jameson being some good examples. It's a broader term today and seems to include anyone who has worked in the industry.

Ya know Reese...Paris, Pamela and Kim did pretty well releasing their sex tapes...maybe you should consider it???? I'll even give you a working title...

I think the difference between a female porn star and an amateur, lets say, is obviously the money, but also porn stars are actors, and most are damn good ones where when you are looking at the "performance" they are doing, it looks real as if they are not "acting" and they are really having fun and that the guy they are "performing" with, is the best they ever had! Not to mention the sex scenes are more graphic, fully nude and you see the penetration along with multiple positions

Now the real movie stars, Cameron Diaz, Diane Lane, ect. are actors as well, and when they have a role that calls for sex in the script, the sex scenes are very short and most of the time, they are in their clothes still and the foreplay is longer.

Yes I agree, Porn stars are people who are in major porn movies, contract girls, when you Google their names are in the list. Lots of well known porn movies, well known magazine spreads. Well known all over. They make the big bucks.

I think "I've dabbled in some porn films" is much more appropriate than "porn star" if you're not actually a STAR. Participating in a porn shoots does not make 'em a star, but it gets attention in ads.

I have participated in several porn shoots. I don't think it makes me a porn star but I suppose I can add PSE to my BFE offerings.
