Meet & Greet in KC

I've noticed that a lot of other regions/cities have done or regularly hold M&Gs. Has that occurred in KC? Is that a regular occurance? Is there any interest in having a meet & greet in the KC area?

I've observed roughly two formats.
1) Public form: a meet & greet announced on ECCIE by some organizer and usually held at some public venue like a happy hour at a bar & grill. Any one is welcome to come. Very discreet with professional dress.

2) Private form: this is a M&G whose info is usually passed around via PM. It involves screening and often some entry fee. Not everyone is welcome. There might even be some prizes for ladies or gents. This form is very discreet but once entrance is met, things are more relaxed.

If anyone responds to this, a poll might be warranted.

I would go if it was in the evening and also if everyone was screened properly and efficiently.

i have seen this as well and maybe a poll is warranted for this. My main thing would be doing it privately through PMs because lets face it why make it any easier.

There is no "privately" on this board. No matter who you invited or how, word would spread within hours.

It sounds like it could be fun but it almost feels like inviting trouble no matter how carefully it was set up.

Didn't we use to do this in the old days? I never got to one, but it seems there were some M&G's.

Yes, there was during another era, a real sweet lady did it for us. But she has retired and left the area.

I agree, I know they do this is in STL, I will PM over there and find out best way they do it.

I think there's more to this "poll" that people need to read into and no one seems to be paying attention.

Keep this in mind though, make sure you kiss your wife goodbye, have your attorney on speed dial, know of a good bail bondsman and/or have enough bail money and a GREAT cover story.

There's no way that this isn't going to end bad.

This has been done in other states and cities. Why not here? There was just one being talked of recently in New Orleans.
