Mark Knopfler...a true genius.
Great thread idea, Big Bob. Love the ground rules...if you click on a link, then turn it up and listen to the whole thing and see how you feel about it at the end.

True words about Knopfler. An absolutely amazing musician! I love the Double Alchemy Live Discs, as they are better than average at capturing the real music yet with the live performance energy.

esteve - Somehow when you wrote the words "Rock Ballad" Scorpions came to mind. Fantastic song.
Lisa - Great song, brings back memories of seeing the Beach Boys perform annually at the old Jack Murphy Stadium after Padres games.
