It could also do something with the guys ego. Some guys are sensitive to the fact that they have to pay for a girls services and resentfully might take it out on them by ripping them off. but then again who knows.

Well, one develops the traits one needs to survive. The people whose own guns are used against them are the ones who are afraid to fire, so if you think you would be afraid to do so carrying a gun is definitely a bad idea. I got used to them at a young age and would have no compunction against pulling the trigger if I needed to.
