It is the speaker's responsibility when the speaker DOES NOT KNOW to avoid being offensive. As far as my use of racial slurs, the same principle applies, although to "some" it may be an "extreme" example, because TO THEM racial slurs are "more" offensive.

The "logic" is an inherent respect for others' sensitivities with a "presumption" based on general social mores and standards that it is generally offensive, and until someone has a better knowledge and/or understanding of another, then it is the better practice to refrain from engaging in potentially offensive behavior or language.

It is founded upon respect for others first, and not putting one's self-interests first.

Maybe in society Yes I agree, but in this community I disagree. I believe the majority here really appreciate these woman and making their services available and are respected because of that. The minority that don't feel that way I believe have a problem with their thinking.
