Read about the ACLU before you denigrate their name. They defended a group that has an opinion about something. Someone took that information and committed a crime and the suit claimed that be found psychological comfort by reading that groups website material and so the website is responsible. The ACLU said you can't sue the group that creates the website because they have free speech. You cannot criminalize groups like that and the ACLU defended the rights of that group not to be sued. If that is made illegal, then all websites are on the chopping block coz all I have to say is "I got a science idea from Nova and built a nuke" and now all those who died can sue Nova? I am sure you of all would appreciate their efforts in defending that.

Some of their work includes defending a 13 year old girls right to privacy from being strip searched by adults, fighting single handedly against Japanese internment camps, gay rights, voting rights, against torture. I can keep going but what am saying is that they have done much good in protecting the rights of those who couldn't protect themselves through the law.

Interesting. My experiences in London were quite different. There are several review boards in the UK, and I never had a problem with getting the GBP equivalent to my USD rate all day long, sometimes a bit more depending on the time of year.

Yes, there are lots of Eastern European ladies who flood the market, but a lot of them also lacked basic English skills, so they really weren't a threat to the market as a whole.

As I said, the ACLU could be a great organization but they pick and choose which "liberties" they will defend. They have actually defended the KKK, with black lawyers. I am not a supporter of the KKK but I will defend their right to free speech and to have all the hate they want as long as they do not commit crimes against people.

This idea that hate is a crime is wrong. We already have laws against acting upon your hatred.

I lived in the ever so expensive Central London for dam near a year of my life; and even though I hadn't delved into the occasional P4P at the time; I can attest that Eastern European Ladies who lack basic English skills was / is a very good thing.

If they defended the KKK ( a group you claim you're not for) why are you complaining about them? Give me an example of how they pick and choose liberties that is unsatisfactory to you.

I have read about them several times and disagree with your take on them and what they defended in that case.

I agree with you completely that the ACLU has done some great things in the past however when they crossed the line with the nambla deal they lost all their creditably with me. There have been several other times they were way off the mark (imho) that is just the most glaring.

Not complaining, just said they pick and choose.
Their intrusion into public schools and being able to find activist judges that broadened the reach of the central government was, in my opinion, restricting the civil liberties rather than expanding them.

The government does not have the right to determine who can and cannot be offended.

Really good points that I have never thought about. I've thought about government regulations on businesses, but never with prostitution.
