Along the same line, here are some words of wisdom from Noam Chomsky,
Asked what form a potential settlement to the war in Ukraine might take, Chomsky says: “First of all, Ukraine will not be a member of Nato. That’s the red line that every Russian leader has insisted on since [the former Russian president Boris] Yeltsin and [the former Soviet president Mikhail] Gorbachev.” He adds: “Ukraine gains the status of, say, Austria during the Cold War or Mexico today. Mexico can’t join a military alliance [hostile to the US]. There’s no treaty about it but it’s perfectly obvious.”
Chomsky also points out that Russia's treated Ukraine with kid gloves, to minimize civilian casualties.
Chomsky's father was born in what's Ukraine today.

Trump got a cease fire between Iran and Israel however long it lasts.
Trump got deal done between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Can Trump come away with an understanding and take that idea to Zelensky for approval?
Can Trump get a lock on a Nobel Peace Prize to the chagrin of TDS sufferers?
Will the left acknowledge the progress being made?
That last is possibly the most difficult.

How can you come to finalize a deal when you don't have all parties at the sit down? donny and pooty are probably scared that Zelensky would kick both their asses in a closed room. (Personally, if I were Zelensky, i'd be cautious that putin would try to poison me.)
Man, what I would find extremely hilarious and quite the appropriate end to most matters is if the Alaskan govenor surrounded and apprehended putin party and put him on a one way flight to the Hague.

No one said this meeting was to finalize anything. Those are your words. Putin agreed to this meeting for some reason. He can't beat Ukraine like he thought he could and Trump is threatening sanctions which knee capped Putin the last go around. Putin is the stronger of the two combatants so he will decide how this ends. When Trump presents his case about sanctions and what Putin will settle for the they can pull in Zelensky. Only common sense which the left has abandoned for TDS.

Yup. My words. And I say again, how can you finalize a deal without all parties involved.
Be it the first or last meeting. Read what you want into that. You can't exclude one party......that is unless the 2 parties are carving up the uninvited for their own gain.

No. Zelensky has stated he won't cede any land to Russia.

To which question? Probably the most difficult would be to get the left to acknowledge what Trump has been able to pull off. He has already got warring parties to sign treaties without the left saying anything. If he pulls off the hat trick they will sit on their hands like the democrats in congress did when Trump was honoring Americans.

Zelensky said that but he may have to change his mind. 88% of Ukrainians want the war to end. The choice may be to give up what you don't control anymore or lose more lives and still not get control again.

I suspect 100% of Ukrainians wanted Russia to not invade.

That's done. A dumb come back. We're talking about the future not history. Considering some Ukrainians are ethnic Russian, I think you're wrong. They may have lived to regret it though.

it's not going to end- and the reason is simple. Putin doesn't want what Trump is offering. He has no need to negotiate. He has not need to stop doing what he is doing. He wants all of Ukraine, and he's not going to stop till he gets all of it. Come all at once, or acre and mile by acre and mile. Zelensky is in a pinch- he has more european support now, and Trumps bullshit tariffs have made him both the nemesis and most hated person across most parts of the globe. So out of spite, the money will still find it's way to Ukraine.
Should Vlad decide to up the ante- there could be further US assistance also requested, and granted. But to think that Alaska is going to be the end of this- is a low percentage play. I wouldn't give Trump any prize for anything that he's done for one reason. He's been more divisive and alienating than any other person in history.
That's his prize.

I hope you know she's not scared to shine the lights and point the cameras where they should (or shouldn't) go.

Sadly, I don’t see it ending. That’s the terrible part. There’s basically three possible outcomes: Either the Ukrainians win, which I give a 15 percent probability; the Russians win, which I give another 15 percent probability; and the most likely scenario is that it just goes on and on and on. And that I would give a 70 percent probability.
so there you have it! do nothing and let Vlad die. War over. easy!

You quite LITERALLY don't understand war. The world can funnel cash into Ukraine but that doesn't translate to the battlefield. THere are no Ukrainians to keep fighting... Putin doesn't have to give up anything... but that also doesn't mean he won't. The Russians need good press and their security concerns are pretty much taken care of if the conflict ends today.... so never say never.
As for the last bit...you think Trump is more divisive than Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Bonaparte, or Jerry Jones?
