Nope, you still got it wrong. But think what you want. You were making points irrelevant to the topic, and thinking you "had" me. I stayed on point and proved you wrong.

What is it about indefinite detention that you like so much?

And this is on topic, because once the public is disarmed, it will be easier to detain them for no reason.

I wasn't comparing you to anyone ... you were the one who spread your personal history all over a post .. not me .... you were the one who jumped me about Cedar Park ... I was merely correcting your "history" of the region, since you were apparently unaware that "Cedar Park" was a mobile home park and only became incorporated as a separate entity from Austin's sprawl in 1973 ... long after 1887 ... again ... an attempt to appear legitimate on your part .... all of it.

As for your "MBA" .... George Bush had one also. Did you also get yours at Harvard?

Pssst ... "the public" is not going to be "disarmed" ..

.... even if an MBA from somewhere thinks it is safer to be disarmed!

Cognition-ignition .... you are always right, even when you are wrong.

You did read chicken little didn't you? And you cry wolf way too much.

LexusLover,

I appreciate the data from the FBI and I agree with you that it is better to use it over the data I presented. However, I disagree with the data you posted..Other than the state populations.

What I find is this, statistics per 100,000 population:

Violent Crime Murder/Neg. Forcible Aggravated
Total Homocide Rape Robbery Assault

NY 398.1 4.0 14.1 145.9 234.1

Tx 408.5 4.4 29.0 110.6 264.5

Feel free to respond.

Regarding your other comments:

Given the high influx of "immigrants" from other STATES and COUNTRIES, it takes little imagination, even from an MBA from Syracus to comprehend that the stats might be heavily weighted from those variables posited by the FBI when comparing to New York .... which only allows an occastional terrorist across her borders to engage in a sapper attack or a passenger-airliner-kamikaze attack in in NYC.

My bet is that the people moving to Texas from other states are much more highly educated than the average person in Texas. As the WSJ article stated, and you can believe it or not, Texas has the lowest HS graduation rate in the U.S. Us "immigrants" can't do anything but help. Liberal or not. I doubt people like me are going to raise the crime rate in Texas.

I never said you compared me to anyone. I said I don't compare myself to anyone and you said "You just did". My response was my personal history in no way was a comparison. GET IT STRAIGHT FOR A CHANGE.

You can change the history of Cedar Park all you want in your delusional mind. I don't care who was living there at the time or what the conditions were. Cedar Park was incorporated as a city in 1973. It received its name in 1887 as stated on www.cedarparkhistory.com. Take it up with town historians if you disagree. GET IT STRAIGHT FOR A CHANGE

Of special note is the actual beginning of Cedar Park. The name "Cedar Park" was the third name for the area, first known as Running Brushy and then Brueggerhoff. It was bestowed upon the area by Emmett Cluck, the son of George Washington and Harriet (Hattie) Cluck. This appellation was announced in 1887. Thus, Cedar Park is actually 123 years old this year!

I don't really care what you think of my MBA. I certainly don't look to you for confirmation on anything I have done, do now, or will do in the future.

For me, yes. However, unlike you, I respect other people's opinions as to their decision to own and/or carry a handgun for their own and their family's protection. I choose not to do so and I am content with my decision, as I hope everyone is.

I have to agree with you there ...

.... and you are the one who distinguishes a threat from a neighbor!

So, if you "neighbor" kicks your door at 4 a.m. and barges into your house ...

... he's not a threat!!

And you were taught that crap in your CHL class(es)????

So, now people who believe in the 2nd Amendment are "idiots" ....

.. you and MBA-Syracruse need to start an anti-gun club.

And the data I posted came right out of the 2011 comparative state data.

So, now, you shop for data that fits your "opinion" .... or desired result?

I'm not surprised that the educational level is lower in Texas than New York, it would be frustrating for an educated Texan to converse with an educated New Yorker, migrating to Texas, so "dumbing down" is helpful....... apparently.... just temporarily to communicate.

(Please feel free to check for typos).
