That person will bring up bad calls by the referees and whatever the fuck he can think of to defend his team, but the bottom line is his team just sucks so quit making excuses because your team's record doesn't lie.
You don’t understand. I’ll give you examples. I argued we have a large current account or trade deficit in the US because consumption and investment exceed savings. In other words we’re a nation of spendthrifts. Increase our savings and the problem goes away. LustyLad maintained the explanation isn’t that simple, that there are barriers to trade in other countries, for example, that play a big part in creating the deficits. In another instance I was arguing that it’s reasonable to include the employer’s share of payroll taxes in the tax burden born by businesses. Captain Midnight pointed towards research that indicates it’s the employees who bear that burden. (We both left out the possibility that maybe it’s the consumer who bears them, which maybe fits in with your theory about sports teams)

Anyway these guys have PhD’s in economics and/or work with economics on a daily basis. Probably “and”. Please note that neither made arguments slanted towards his “side.” Midnight in fact took the left’s position when he’s a free market classical liberal. I’m smart enough to know if I argue with either of those two I’ll lose.

Red Dog’s a good example from the left. There are some here who are unwise enough to argue with him about mRNA vaccines. He’s probably got a PhD in something like biochemistry or molecular biology and he reads academic papers about vaccines.

When one of these gentlemen posts on something he knows well, I’m going to listen

Smh... this is as fucking pathetic as it gets!

It’s sarcasm. Admittedly Al Gore and AOC don’t want to rid the world of electricity, just gasoline. But their favored “solutions” would leave us with high priced energy and shortages. And since the USA only accounts for 15% of carbon emissions what would they accomplish?

ahh

as I have often lamented

the typed word, read flat, is a flawed means of communication at times

missing is inflection, tone, body language from a wry smile to the twinkle in one's eye or to a scowl on an ugly visage,

and of course leaves much to chance for the reader's comprehension abilities may be sorely lacking
