Default Trimp lies about the elimination of tax on Social Security benefits

Trump repeated claims Thursday evening that the bill eliminates taxes on Social Security—a campaign promise he made before the election—saying at a rally in Iowa that the bill delivered “no tax on Social Security for our great seniors.”

In reality, the bill does not make any direct changes to taxing of Social Security benefits.

The bill does provide an enhanced tax credit for senior citizens ages 65 and older, which provides a maximum tax credit of $6,000 through 2028 that’s calculated based on the taxpayer’s income.

Trump continues to live in his make believe Truth Social world.

He started out trying to do a good thing for seniors. He doesn't have to lie about the result.

The problem is that this isn’t good for all seniors or the social security system as a whole.

The Social security system is in trouble and needs more revenue not less. Until Congress takes the revenue and the graying of America problem seriously then expect cuts to Social Security payments starting in 2032.

These tax cuts will do nothing but short social security about 30 billion a year.

Congress passed the bill.

The President took what he could get. Which is better than nothing.

That is not the point.

The point is Trump is now spreading lies about it. Just like he always does.

He is the strangest man. Says Musk has TDS. Perhaps Trump should be examined for some kind of syndrome.

Trump has TDS if anyone does. He thinks he's smart and successful, that foreign leaders respect him and he's doing good things for the country.

No it isn’t.

Nothing was better than that abomination Trump rammed down Congress’s throats and up the taxpayers’ ass!

From the mouths of those who do nothing but spread lies and misinformation about anything Trump. Y’all can never tell the whole truth about anything.

Tell this to the millions (including myself) who will no longer have to pay taxes on their SS income because of the tax deductions in this bill. Remember….It was also the thieving Dims that taxed SS in the first place.

In about seven years everyone on Social Security is going to have to take a significant haircut on their Social Security payments. This tax break you get is doing nothing but stealing from the future of the program.

Because our representatives couldn’t fix the problem decades ago we are now stuck with this problem that people are either ignorant of or just plain ignoring until it blows up in all our faces.

Instead he’s appeasing his constituents with a paltry savings on their taxes while ignoring the reality of the problem. In less than a decade those people who depend on Social Security to live are going to see a twenty three percent cut to their Social Security income. Those aging into the program will see a significant reduction in their income they may not have planned for.

Tell me how you plan to fix that before you tell us how you plan on spending your tax savings.

Trump lies when he says taxes on Social Security benefits have been eliminated.

All this bill does is provide a taxable income reduction of up to $ 7,600. Social Security benefits are still taxed, depending upon what other income you make.

How many millions will still pay tax on their Social Security benefits ? Trump says all tax is eliminated.

Why don't you provide the math for your particular situation ?

What this bill did changed only the timeline of the issue. Our representatives would have had to and will still have to fix the problem sooner or later. Is this your favorite whine? All I ever read from you is gloom and doom, Trump this and Trump that. Why haven't you run for public office and fixed all of this?
