Another 'peaceful' ambush of ICE agents. One agent shot by radical leftwing lunatics trying to stop the enforcement of federal immigration laws.
'A Planned Ambush': Shooting of TX Police Officer Was Part of Larger Plot to Kill ICE Agents
Thankfully, despite being hit in the neck, the officer survived and was released from the hospital.
I wondered what they were up to because it certainly appeared as if this armed group had more sinister plans than the lone shooting—as bad as that was—because they were heavily armed, with some wearing body armor and others covered in mud. They had goggles and masks and fliers reading: "Resist fascism," "fight oligarchy, and "fight ICE terror."
It sure looked like they were looking for big trouble, and according to Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson, that’s exactly the case:
“It was a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers,” Larson said at the Monday briefing. “Make no mistake, this was not a peaceful protest. It was indeed an ambush.”
The whole thing was a setup, and things could have turned out much worse if their plot to kill multiple officers had come to fruition:
Federal officials described the encounter as an ‘organized ambush’ carried out by armed individuals dressed in black military-like clothing who reportedly first detonated fireworks outside the federal facility.
Like the sick Coeur d’Alene, Idaho assassin who purposely lured firefighters to a blaze he’d set, only to shoot at them and tragically murder two, these unidentified zealots baited law enforcement there with the fireworks:
The sound led two unarmed ICE facility employees to walk outside the facility on Sunflower Lane, where they reportedly encountered people with flashlights who were using spray paint to vandalize the building and vehicles with phrases including Traitor and ICE Pig.
An Alvarado police officer also responded to reports of suspicious activity only to be met with gunfire by an assailant, according to police.
Larson did not identify the assailants but said 10 individuals will face federal charges—including attempted murder of a federal officer. It’s hardly the only recent violence around the country directed at ICE.

None of this is going to stop until they find (and charge) who is funding these people, and hold them accountable.

Where did you get this story bb? Seems like something you found on one of them “websites.” How do you know that this was done by “radical left wing lunatics?”
The shooting did seem to be orchestrated, but the story you posted is an editorial take on a press conference, with a healthy side order of horse shit.
Shirley we don’t want masked, armored, heavily armed ICE agents in civvies to become targets. They need to be scary and make those horrible criminal families flee back across the Rio grande in fear.
And why is anybody surprised that they are viewed that way. Masked marauders marching through the streets with automatic weapons and unlimited authority? Why would anybody want to resist them peacefully?
That said, where did you find this report? I would ask if you made it up, it we all know that’s not possible.
Your trolling headlines, on the other hand, are all you. Who claimed the attack was a peaceful protest? Seems like ever since Jan 6, the definition of peaceful protest has climbed to the top of your list of trolling triggers.
If you can’t link, at least try to think before trolling the board,

We need a rule on this board that if you openly quote a source and do not link to it, that it is ruled as plagiarism and the poster is cited for it.
Not doing so is not only unethical, it seems a transparent attempt to hide the "credibility"...or lack thereof...of the source.

Or a local CBS report.
http://https://www.cbsnews.com/texas...-ice-facility/
No editorializing in the article but the suspects had a flag saying "resist fascism" and "fight oligarchy". And fliers with stuff like "fight ICE terror with class war". Certainly doesn't sound like the sentiments of the MAGA crowd. I'd say left wing is a reasonable assertion and the fact that they lured ICE agents (or attempted to) in order to shoot them is pretty extreme, don't you think?

Thank you both, though Duc's link doesn't seem to work.
I appreciate that the Fox News story doesn't contain the kind of inflammatory rhetoric used by the OP in the subject line:
"Another 'peaceful' ambush of ICE agents. One agent shot by radical leftwing lunatics trying to stop the enforcement of federal immigration laws."
It will only be a matter of time before that type of hyperbolic rhetoric is rampant though. It will likely appear in this very thread pretty soon.
Let's get this out there in advance: violence is not supported by the Dems, libs, Marxists...whatever TF you want to call them. If you weaponize these acts against a larger group, be prepared to be called out.
Anyone who takes advantage of horrific acts like this to promote their agenda against people that they don't like is a special kind of asshole. Don't be that guy.

Applying the label "left wing" to this small group should not be offensive to anyone objective. What would be offensive would be to say that they REPRESENT the left wing.
They do not.
They represent only themselves and their twisted ideas.
They are maniacs who deserve the harshest consequences and ostracism.

Karl Marx stated that in the end, violent revolution was the only way to achieve his goals.

Many disagree if he actually meant the mass slaughter of other human beings. However, the proof in the murderous nature of Marxism can be seen in the millions that have died under the Regimes that tended to be Thugocracies masquerading as Marxist.
The best examples are the old Soviet Union, Communist China, and The Democratic Republic of North Korea.

The only reason I posted this is you included Marxist in your post.

The OP called them "radical leftwing lunatics" with no mention of painting all left leaning folks with that brush so let's not get ahead of ourselves.
To borrow from Jordan Peterson, exactly when does the left go too far? Is this it? If so, who on the left is calling this out?

I appreciate your sentiment. But I do not apologize for my skepticism. You imply that his language was perhaps an objective choice. I give no such benefit of the doubt. His past posts and the general conduct in this sub-forum do not warrant it.
As to your last sentence...sometimes I truly do not understand what you are trying to accomplish in these posts. Are you also not understanding of the trite maxim that "absence of a negative is not evidence of a positive"? That there is no one "calling out"? I, for one, have already said that these people are maniacs and deserve the harshest consequences. And when left-leaning members here do comment on events like this, it is usually in condemnation. I think it is also safe to say that no one reasonable and rational that is prominent in politics on "the left" is supportive of this.
But one could also view your use of Jordan's statement of "painting all left the same"...with the view that...in a way...you are doing that very thing.
"Exactly when does the left go too far?"
The left didn't do this! Extremist maniacs did.

To be clear, the phrase "painting all the left..." has no connection to Jordan Peterson and no, I'm not doing that very thing.
As for your trite maxim, I don't recognize that one. You must be thinking about a different one.
You are allegedly on the right so no need for you to call it out. Yssup certainly didn't call it out earlier. But I'm not seeing any major Dem politicians distancing themselves from it, which is something I'm sure all the left leaning posters here would be screaming for if it was a right wing extremist attack. No?
