I was entertaining the idea since good providers are hard to come by in this area. With that in mind what's the point of the process? Just another unnecessary hurdle.

My guess is their process is for verification/screening. You provide your hobby number and contact them from that very same number, simple enough and that’s better than having to pay a deposit. They do a daily email and it contains who’s available and where rather than a text message that the SO might get ahold of.
