Passport Required?

I’m going to be in the RGV for a couple weeks soon and wanted to cross and check out Vampiz. I used to go to Acuna all the time but that was when a DL was all you needed. I’ve heard you can cross and come back with an ID but wanted real world experience from someone who’s done this. I’ve seen conflicting info online. I do have the REAL ID with the gold star. I don’t have a copy of my birth certificate but I can get one. Is that needed? Thanks

I went recently and only used my real id. I took my passport just in case but they have two lines. One for passport and one for real id.
