I wouldn’t characterize the gunman as a protester. He came to the university to commit a terrorist act in which two people were injured and one person was killed. The students who subsequently subdued the shooter which resulted in his death were apparently defending themselves.

Unless some new information is released that contradicts what has been reported I don’t see how anyone will be prosecuted.

I agree completely. Nothing adverse should befall the students who confronted the shooter.
