You just did a mic drop with that post...

That list is spot on. Can't argue with any of it. Even added a couple to my list to visit.

Historical, fantastic prime rib, old strip, Jerry's Nugget.

Opposite side of strip, Bootleggers Italian

Hot n Juicy, off strip locations are actually busier than the strip location at Miracle Mile Shops.

Video poker bar - Schucks. Good Oysters

Thank you Boltfan and thank you for adding more locations to the list.

Also at the same Hash House A Go Go, I want to add the Sage Fried Chicken & Waffles

They have a new location in Plano that opened about 2 year ago - but it sucks.

yeah he gives you these plates with insignificant morsel of food which you wash down with paired wine to cleanse the palate before next course arrives. it's elaborate, fancy and tiresome but robuchon and masaharu morimoto are top chefs in the world so something to try once or twice. vegas makes them accessible to normal folks so might as well give it a shot.

Oh I don't like those kind of food/meals.

A 1 oz piece of meat or seafood or bone marrow surrounded by dots of colorful condiments and flower petals and you pay $100s for the meal and you still come away hungry.

Yeah. Found out 3 week wait for reservation. I think I can find a way in though. . I must have some prawns and pad Thai.

So Chada Thai is similar to los?

Other good restaurants:

Bouchon (Venetian)
Chada Thai and Wine (run by LOS alum Bank Atcharawan)
Bardot Bistrot (Aria)
l’Atelier de Joel Robuchon (MGM)

Very similar northern Thai cuisine. Pad kee mao with sea bass (drunken noodles) is just as good as LOS. Seabass tod krueng is truly amazing. And great wine list. Sea bass and Reisling is a combination to die for. Penang curry duck is also one of my favorites.

Now THAT is how you recommend restaurants in Vegas-- tons and tons of options and not a single crappy, kitschy, generic Celebutard chain restaurant in the bunch.

A couple of the celebutard restaurants aren't overpriced for locals. Jose Andres Steakhouse at SLS often runs specials for locals with ID. But in general you are right Grace. Most of them can be topped easily by the local off the beaten path or historical places still around. While they are a local chain Michoacan Mexican restaurant is pretty good.
