Making an appointment with an escort is not illegal. Paying for sex is illegal but you didn't do that. And if someone says you did, the burden of proof is on them. You don't have to prove that you didn't do it; they have to prove that you did. And that's going to be hard to do from a few text messages about scheduling an appointment. Even if sex for money was explicitly offered to you in a text message, it doesn't mean that you did it. Unless you wrote to the booker and said something like, "I agree to pay money for sex at this appointment", you're fine.

If they do make contact, remember that you always have the right to remain silent and you should exercise that right at all times when dealing with police. Let an attorney do the talking for you. The only thing you should ever say is, "I do not consent." Cooperation doesn't benefit you in any way whatsoever. It just makes their job easier.

But I highly doubt any detectives are going to be eager to build flimsy cases against people for nothing more than solicitation.

I think you have to agree to the prices mentioned...that's why I hate it when the booker texts that canned message about pricing and extras...I never reply to it and always just ask to see the girl for a certain amount of time and never agree to anything other than a time and date. not sure if that shields me, but that's about as agreeable as you can get without actually saying "Yes, money for sex!"

In addition to burner phones, hobbyists and providers need to stop using basic sms messaging. Telegram is a much better choice because you can delete an entire conversation for both people on all devices. It doesn't completely insulate you but it's a hell of a lot better than standard sms.
