Renee's wife made a terrible decision to encourage her to go to the protest that resulted in her untimely demise. She should be held to full account and now she has to live with the grief.

Republican candidate Chris Madel, candidate in Minnesota dropped his campaign as a direct response to the way the Trump administration has carried out its immigration enforcement.

I cannot support the national Republicans’ stated retribution on the citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so. I support the originally stated goals of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Operation Metro Surge, in locating and deporting the worst of the worst from our state. And I’ve seen many examples of ICE arresting non-U.S. citizens in Minnesota convicted of serious crimes, including murder, rape, and child sexual assault. No reasonable person should want these people here, and I am glad that they are gone.

But Operation Metro Surge has expanded far beyond its stated focus on true public safety threats. United States citizens, particularly those of color, live in fear. United States citizens are carrying papers to prove their citizenship. That’s wrong. ICE has authorized its agents to raid homes using a civil warrant that need only be signed by a border patrol agent. That’s unconstitutional, and it’s wrong. Weaponizing criminal investigations against political opponents is unconstitutional, regardless of who is in power.

The Minnesota National Guard was seen handing out coffee and donuts to anti-ICE protesters in St. Paul on Sunday.

Video captured guardsmen in yellow vests offering donuts and coffee out the back of a vehicle. One National Guard member told WCCO-TV that this was a "demonstration of safety and security."

The Minnesota National Guard posted on X earlier this month that if troops were deployed to the Twin Cities, they would wear reflective vests "to help distinguish them from other agencies in similar uniforms."

Gregory Bovino, commander-at-large of Border Patrol, said Sunday that the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents involved in the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis will likely be assigned to administrative duties.

“These Border Patrol agents are going to more than likely be on administrative duty, but they will remain Border Patrol agents,” Bovino told host Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Bovino added that the agents will be taken off the streets in Minneapolis, but will still take part in operations in other cities that CBP and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are deployed in.

As a Texan, I feel I can say with confidence...when Abbott tells the administration they need to 'recalibrate' you've done a bad job.

In general, we need to have respect for law enforcement officers in the country. ICE, they are law enforcement officers. So they, being the White House, need to recalibrate on what needs to be done to make sure that respect is going to be re-instilled. That’s not an easy task, especially under the current circumstances. But I know that they’re working on a game plan to make sure that they’re going to recalibrate, maybe work from a different direction, to ensure that they get back to what they wanted to do to begin with, which is to remove people from the country who are here illegally, who were allowed in by Joe Biden — and especially those who posed the most danger.

Renee's wife has already accepted full responsibility for misleading her spouse to an untimely demise.
