The only racists in this thread are Mamdanis wife and you.
What’s really interesting is Mamdani doesn’t deny the allegations but says:
“My wife is the love of my life, and she’s also a private person who has held no formal position on my campaign or in my City Hall. I, however, was elected to represent all 8.5 million people in the city, and I believe that it’s my responsibility because of that role to answer questions about my thoughts and my politics, and my stances.”

What he’s saying is that his wife doesn’t represent his own views and that she wants to remain a private citizen for as long as possible.
Personally reporting on someone’s social media “likes” isn’t exactly great journalism. I am sure that plenty of people regret their social media activity from their teens and early twenties.
This entire incident has all the hallmarks of a political hit job in which the right wants to make a mountain out of a molehill and then apply it to her husband. It’s political bullshit in other words.

All they have is political bullshit.
They certainly don't have any integrity left or electoral victories in their future

Sweep it under the rug as you see fit. One thing is for sure if that was Melania it would be 24/7 news.
“In one 2015 post, she raged that Tel Aviv “shouldn’t exist in the first place,” calling its residents “occupiers,” and dropped the N-word in another post two years earlier.”

Of course. Way more eyes would be on FLOTUS based on the relative power and influence vs FLONYC
Use some common sense instead of disingenuous whattaboutisms.
That said, she said what she said and needs to own it, including the consequences.

You don’t think that Melania said and did stupid things in her teens and early twenties. The only difference is that the internet was not around to record everything you do and say in perpetuity.
This is a non story that I did not need to sweep under the rug. It’s not getting any traction because people realize how stupid it really is. If you don’t like the Mayor’s policies feel free to speak up. But it’s a lot classier to leave his 28 year old wife out of it.

Color me shocked about the 1st part of the statement.
But we all know there will be zero consequences.
ABC, NBC, CBS are radio silent. And while I agree FLOTUS is a more prominent position than FLONY the media silence is not excused nor has been properly adjusted based on positional differences.

Leave his wife out of what?
Denying the claim? Indirectly validating she said it?
The only thing Mamdani did was deflect, not deny the evidence and hoping this goes away. And you’re giving him exactly what he wants.
She used an extremely derogatory and racist term and the Dems don’t care because it doesn’t fit the current agenda. Hey as long as you’re cool with that.
Or are you denying she used that term?

Write a sternly worded letter to the editor and express your displeasure to them. Demand accountability. No one will help you here

Lots of hilarious (and extremely hypocritical) pearl clutching happening in here lately. Funny how we're against racist rhetoric now. Finally. I wonder why the sudden change of heart?

Race rhetoric, nope. Religion rhetoric, absolutely. Islam and modern western civilizations are incompatible. There’s a bunch of Islamic countries in the world they could reside in but, for obvious reasons, they’d rather not live there. It’s not much different than the current exodus from deep blue states to places like Texas and Florida. Their ideals wrecked their own states now they’re fleeing like rats on a sinking ship.

Here’s some things that our members might not know about Mamdani.
Mamdani is a dual citizen of Uganda and the United States; he was naturalized in the latter country in 2018. He is a member of the Twelver branch of Shia Islam. In 2021, Mamdani met animator and illustrator Rama Duwaji on Hinge, an online dating application. They became engaged in October 2024, held a private nikah ceremony two months later in Dubai, and were married in February 2025 in a civil ceremony at New York City Hall; they also had a ceremony in Uganda in July 2025. The couple resided in Mamdani's legislative district of Astoria, Queens, near Steinway Street, until they moved into Gracie Mansion.
Besides English, Mamdani can speak at least five other languages with varying degrees of proficiency: Hindi, Swahili, Luganda, Spanish, and Arabic. He is a fan of the English football team Arsenal and the New York Knicks basketball team, whose games he has attended as part of past campaigns, and also follows cricket and professional wrestling. He is a shareholder of the Spanish soccer team Real Oviedo, having been one of 20,000 people to purchase shares in the club in 2012 as part of a fundraising drive to stave off bankruptcy.
Mamdani is a fan of hip-hop and has composed, performed, and produced rap music. Under the moniker Young Cardamom, he collaborated with his best friend, Ugandan rapper HAB (Abdul Bar Hussein), whose origins are from South Sudan, as Young Cardamom & HAB.
Mamdani curated and produced the soundtrack for his mother Mira Nair's 2016 film Queen of Katwe, for which he was nominated for a 2017 Guild of Music Supervisors Awards; he co-wrote the song "#1 Spice" with HAB for the film.
It appears that he’s a fairly accomplished fellow. Travelled, Musical, Multilingual, A successful Politician.

Duel citizens should be disallowed from holding public office. It’s a clear conflict of interests.

Tell that to Schwarzenegger.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a dual citizen of Austria and the United States.
