The FBI did raid Fulton County's election hub in January 2026. The affidavit used to obtain the warrant relied on years-old claims — many already thoroughly investigated — and the investigation was initiated by a referral from a White House official who had previously tried to help Trump overturn his 2020 loss.

NPR found the affidavit omitted key findings from state investigators that undercut the fraud claims. A former Justice Department official called it "much weaker than I suspected," adding: "After more than five years, dozens of court cases, and over a year in total control of the federal government, this is all they've got?"

Fulton County's ballots were counted three separate times. Results were affirmed each time. The Georgia State Election Board unanimously dismissed the final fraud complaint in 2024 after investigators could not substantiate the allegations.
